Who should receive the flu vaccine?

  • People of 65 years and older
  • Pregnant women: ask advice at your doctor
  • People who live together with children younger than 6 months
  • People who live in an institution
  • People who work in healthsystem
  • Patients with a longterm illness:
    • lung diseases, for example: asthma, chronic lung disease
    • hartdiseases exept high blood pressure
    • liverdiseases
    • kidneydiseases
    • diabetes, diseases of the thyriod gland
    • patients with lower immunity, for example: cancerpatients, HIV

When should you receive your vaccination?

The vaccination preferably occurs in November. This offers you a protection against the most common flu types for 6 months. The vaccination should be repeated each year around the same time.
